Milan, one of Europe’s most attractive cities and host to the Expo 2015, was an ideal venue for this well-established event in the M&A calendar. For many decades, the city has been the capital of Italy's financial markets as well as its automobile and fashion industries. To maximise the networking opportunities at the 8th Mid-Market Forum as well as experience all that Milan has to offer, we organised an extensive social programme for delegates and their spouses.

THURSDAY EVENING

The 8th M&A Mid-Market Forum opened with a welcome buffet dinner at the renowned Prinicpe di Savoia hotel with entertainment provided by Kataklò and Flux.

FLUX A colourful and breathtaking show of highly technical juggling fused with dance and cutting-edge technology. This unique double-act has been performed in 31 countries around the world.

KATAKLÒ Chameleonic, dynamic and exciting: the scenarios created by Kataklò are always different and unique. Impressive athletic dance theatre, this group has performed at the Winter Olympic Games of Turin 2006, the Hong Kong New Year’s celebrations and the Cultural Olympiad in Beijing 2008.

A gala dinner together with the 3rd M&A International Media Awards ceremony was held after the Forum at Teatro Sociale di Como, a spectacular setting with entertainment provided by accomplished singers from La Scala's chorus.

ADDITIONAL SATURDAY TOURS
Delegates were offered a choice of programmes: morning only, afternoon only or all day. The following day options are not part of the Forum programme.

CUISINE CLASS A special menu brought to you from some of the most famous chefs in Milan. You will learn how to choose the best ingredients, cook delicious Italian meals and present the dishes like a true professional. Buon appetito!

SHOPPING TOUR Don’t miss out on Milan’s famous shopping scene! From prestigious boutiques to smaller alternative and traditional shops not to mention department stores, supermarkets, discount outlets and street markets, your personal shopper will be happy to show you around. Via Montenapoleone and the elegant surrounding streets that together with Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia, Via Bigli and Via Manzoni form the high fashion district. Piazza San Babila, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Duomo (including Galleria Vittorio Emanuele) and Via Dante form a pedestrian area with many shops, predominantly clothes, books and media. Other important, though less central shopping streets include Corso Buenos Aires (near the station), Corso XXII Marzo and Corso Vercelli. Via Torino is strong on fashion for the younger set. The Brera district, surrounding the Brera academy and gallery, was once the territory of artists; now they are great shopping areas. Via Fiori Chiari, Via Madonnina and Piazza del Carmine form another attractive pedestrian area with small, interesting shops, and in the evening the area is kept lively with its many bars and cafés.

PALAZZO REALE & MUSEUM POLDI PEZZOLI Visit the exquisite works of art at the Milan Palazzo Reale and the Museum Poldi Pezzoli. Thanks to generous donors who have bequeathed the Museum Poldi Pezzoli over a thousand objects in the last fifty years, it now features one of the most prestigious collections in Europe.

TOUR OF MILAN
The Duomo The perfect expression of Lombard spirituality and art. Trace the cathedral’s extensive history, a fascinating path through creativeness and art, where you can discover the multicultural spirit of the city and its future-oriented mind.

Ambrosian Picture Gallery and Library The name “Ambrosiana” refers to the city’s patron saint, Ambrogio (Ambrose), associated with the religious Ambrosian rite. The gallery is located close to Piazza Duomo and is the oldest museum in Milan. Visitors are not only treated to rare works of national and international art but can also enter the renowned Ambrosian Library, a treasure house of scholarly riches.

Castello Sforzesco The Sforzesco castle, one of the most famous monuments in Milan, has been demolished and rebuilt several times, and represents the historical highs and lows of the city. Today, the castle houses several of the city's museum and art gallery collections.

SATURDAY ALL-DAY
We travel north to the beautiful lakeside town of Como to visit the town’s Duomo and then the silk factory “la tessitura”, a concept store dedicated to showcasing unique products by young and international designers. The day ends with a short walk along the Como shoreline.

Join M&A International Inc. members at their Fall Conference Closing Dinner at the elegant Villa Borromeo.
